If you live in Norfolk and you’re looking after someone who cannot cope on their own, you’ll know that meeting up with people in a similar situation can provide much-needed support.
There are a range of support groups across the county which offer regular breaks to carers – some are specific to certain conditions, but others are open to anyone who is currently looking after someone else.
Norfolk Carers still has funds available to people who’d like to set up a support group or for any existing groups which might benefit from a grant but as the funding deadline approaches at the end of June, the organisation is urging people to get their applications in as soon as possible.
New groups can receive a grant of up to £500 for their first year; a grant of £300 is available for existing groups which are seeking funding.
Groups must consist of at least 6 carers over the age of 16 – with at least half of the regular members being current carers.
Carers’ groups must also provide one or more of the following to its members; information, outings, training, advice, leisure activities, activities to promote carers’ health and wellbeing, sporting activities and peer support.
The deadline for applications to be received is 30th June 2017.
If you think your group could benefit from this grant then please get in touch with us on 0808 808 9876 or 01603 219924, or alternatively, read the Guidance Notes and complete the Application Form below. Please send completed application forms to email@example.com or the postal address below.
