A group of young carers and young adult carers enjoyed an ice skating session in Norwich last night, after Norfolk Family Carers won the EDP 24 charity ice skating competition, along with Norfolk YMCA.
It was a much welcomed chance for many young carers to have a break and enjoy a new experience during the festive period which can be very socially isolating.
8 year old Chloe has been going to one of our young carers groups for several months now. Her mum Christine says it gives her a chance to have some time for herself, “She loves it. She’s made friends and it’s a chance for her to do something on her own. It’s a bit of independence.”
