We are really pleased to introduce you to Emily Capps who will be running the Virgin Money London Marathon for us next April.

We selected Emily as our runner following an online application process. Her application impressed us, especially when she told us that the chance to complete the London Marathon would fulfil a childhood dream; one she had always considered impossible.

Emily said “I have always been fascinated by the London Marathon since the owner of my childhood fruit and veg shop showed me his medal back in 1990. Since then each year I have avidly watched the BBC coverage. As soon as that iconic music starts and the unmistakable tones of Brendan Foster filled the air I am hooked”.

Great that next year we are able to give Emily the chance to be in the midst of this iconic sporting event! Not only that but she will be raising funds to support family carers across Norfolk whilst fulfilling her dream of competing in the London Marathon.

Emily works in the community and has witnessed at first hand some of the difficult circumstances people find themselves in and seen people caring for loved ones, trying to do their best for each other.  She felt that to run and raise money whilst also raising the profile of the charity would be really worthwhile. “I know it supports a huge cross section of people within our community”.

Emily only took up running in 2017 and completed her first half marathon a couple of months ago. She is very determined and we know she will be successful. We are looking forward to working with her and supporting her training and fundraising.

If you would like to support Emily please make a donation via her fundraising page.
