1 in 9 people in Norfolk is a carer and this figure is increasing.
Many unpaid carers find themselves having to reduce their hours or give up work to care for a family member or friend.
Supporting carers at work makes business sense.
Through our Employee Assist programme we can support your staff with the stresses and strains that result from balancing work and caring. Our Family Care Advisors have a wealth of local knowledge and expertise – whether it’s navigating the health and social care system, dealing with money matters, supporting a carer emotionally, helping a carer to access grants, advice on looking after someone else’s affairs, practical support etc. We can come to your place of work and offer consultations to staff members.
- Consultation £75 per hour (plus travel)
Our consultation is a one hour session which gives employees a chance to talk through their situation with one of our experienced Care Support Advisers.
They will receive a follow up report with recommendations and all of the information they need to keep on top of their caring role.
“It felt like we finally had clarity. For someone external to come in and pick through the emotions of a very difficult situation and help us find a way forward was absolutely invaluable. If I, as someone who is competent, confident and strong-willed couldn’t get the help we needed from social care in our time of need – how will others who are less confident manage? I find that very scary for other people.”
Clare from Norwich – February 2018
- Support with form filling £50 per hour (plus travel).
We can talk to employees first to assess their eligibility to receive a benefit before coming to their home to help them complete a form.
We have supported people to fill in Carer’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance and PIP forms.
“Had I not been able to ask for your help, I would have abandoned the whole thing as going through the form seemed so difficult as to be not worth doing.”
